New developments:

Fairchild C-119 "Boxcar"

Making its maiden flight in 1947, the Fairchild C-119 was developed from the wartime C-82 Packet.

The twin booms and high-set wing suspend a rudimentary box-shaped fuselage designed to carry large amounts of cargo and parachute troops for delivery to the front line. It is no surprise then, that the design quickly earned its nickname, “The Flying Boxcar”.

When production ceased in 1955, over 1,100 examples had been built in various configurations including heavily-armed “Shadow” and “Stinger” gunships.

This venerable cargo-hauler was used extensively in the Korean War dropping thousands of tons of much-needed supplies and countless parachute troop drops. It saw service with the US Navy, US Marine Corps and the USAF.

The USAF Strategic Air Command operated C-119s from 1955 through to 1973 and the type saw service in many covert actions including aerial recovery of secret film from spy satellites.

Many other nations also operated “Boxcars” and the aircraft also served in civilian guise as a tanker and bulk cargo carrier.

Our model includes many special features including a fully detailed cargo bay, deployable para-troops and a cargo-drop function. The cockpit is authentically modelled and provides a highly realistic flying experience.

The "Flying Boxcar" is out now so why dont you check out the product page!

Heinkel HE-111 P2

Owing to restrictions placed on Germany after WW1 with strict controls on armament design and manufacture, the first examples of the Heinkel HE 111 design masqueraded as civilian airliners.

First used in the Spanish Civil War, the iconic bomber served well and enjoyed considerable notoriety in the early months of WW2. Right across Europe, the Heinkel first brought the fearsome “Blitzkreig” to the theatre of war.

It was during the Battle of Britain and the “Blitz” that the Heinkel HE 111 became famous – recognisable by all for its “glass-house” nose and cockpit. It was this cockpit arrangement that actually led to the aeroplane's demise as frontal attacks from the RAF's fighters often proved fatal. Although the design of the airframe itself proved it could withstand a great deal of punishment.

Despite its losses during the summer of 1940, the Heinkel HE 111 was constantly developed and improved in years to follow.

The aircraft saw service in all the major theatres of WW2 and was used to deliver “Buzz-bomb” rocket propelled, guided bombs, torpedoes in shipping attacks and a vast array of other ordnance. Two Heinkels, bolted together with a common centre wing and a fifth engine were called “Zwilling” and produced in small numbers to tow giant gliders.

After the War, Spain continued to build the Heinkel under licence and dubbed the CASA 2 111. Ironically these machines were powered by the Spitfire and Hurricane's Rolls Royce Merlin engines.

Our project illustrates the P2 variant, an early version and a combatant in the Battle of France and Battle of Britain. Flying that glass-house cockpit is an interesting experience and a change from the constrictive enclosed cockpits of other simulation aircraft. We promise an unique and rewarding ride with the new Heinkel HE 111!

Avro Lancaster B MkI

The Avro Lancaster is one of those icons from World War Two. Designed for a purpose - to carry as much high explosive ordnance as possible and deliver it to the target with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. It did these things, unfailingly throughout the RAF Bomber Command daylight bombing offensive from 1942 right through to the end of the war. Together with stablemates, the Halifax and Sterling, The Lanc completed the trio of versatile heavy bombers employed by Bomber Command. Made famous in daring raids such as Operation Chastise - 617 Squadron the "Dambusters" dropping of the Barnes Wallis bouncing bomb and the bombing of the Tirpitz deep in an occupied Norwegian fjord, the Lancaster served well into the 1950' and 60's in many forces all around the World and was developed into the post-war Lincoln.

Our model depicts the BMk1 which was never really superceded as the RAF's standard heavy bomber. Apart from the additions of radar and specialist armaments, the Mk1 remained unchanged throughout the war. You will find an incredible level of detail in the model with bomb-room, front-turret, navigator and radio operator stations all meticulously detailed in the interior and a huge amount of authentic detail in the exterior including "pillow-puffing" in the metal skin and a full bomb-load in the bay. Turrets are detailed down to bullets in the feeder chutes and fully-modeled crew-members manning each. The pilot's cockpit is fully functional and highly accurate.

The Lancaster is now out and available from Justflight. Click here to go to their page
