The DeHavilland Comet first took to the air on July 27th 1949. Designed by the the same author of the famous DH98 Mosquito, the Comet was destined to become the World’s first jet airliner.

The first commercial version was delivered in 1951 to British Overseas Airways, BOAC, and a Comet made the first jet-powered international flight to Johannesburg in May of that year.

Aeroplane Heaven is modeling four variants of this classic jet-liner; The prototype, Comet 2 RAF Military Specification, 4B and 4C long and short-haul versions.

Each comes with a fully functional flight deck including all working controls and switches, engineer’s station and navigation gear.

An example passenger cabin is also included with Stewardess/Attendant.

Each model is beautifully finished with many authentic animations and correct configuration of landing gear, flaps and airbrakes.

Several of the World’s major international and regional airlines’ liveries are included in the pack, together with a paint-kit for those wishing to add their favourite schemes.

We will update you on Comet’s progress and a projected release date when more news of this awesome release is available.

Dedicated models of the Comet will be available for both FS9 (FS2004) and FSX simulators.

A legend of the air, the “Connie” was flown by just about every airline of the World during aviation’s golden years.

The prototype first flew in 1943 and was first designed as a fast military transport.Several early civilian examples built for TWA were hastily converted to military use. Faster than many fighters of the day, the “Connie” could outrun a Japanese Zero!

After the war, full scale production commenced for many US and international airlines.

Pan-American Airways were the first airline to introduce “round-the-World” flights with the famous Clipper America ( a model is included in the pack) and the Constellation was to fly  the planet for another 50 years of continual commercial service.

Aeroplane Heaven are building the L049,  L1049, L1049 Super Constellation, C-69 and C-121 versions of this historic aircraft, exclusively for FSX and FSX Acceleration.

Highly detailed, authentic models will include fully functional flight stations with modeled, “Liqui-Smooth” gauges, all animated controls and fittings and a fully-rendered passenger cabin (First-Class) with stewardess/attendant.

Available in a wide variety of famous airline liveries depicting many of the World’s great airlines, the “Connie” will also come with a paint-kit for enthusiasts to make their own favourite schemes.

As the Constellation nears completion, we will update you with the latest news and estimated time of release.

This little aeroplane brought economical flying to many hundreds of people throughout the United States during the late post-war years and well into the 1950s and 60’s.

Designed to be easy to fly, the aircraft has no rudder pedals, using a linked aileron/rudder system, operated from the one car-like steering wheel. The most basic of instrument sets, switches and engine controls keep everything really simple up front and the design was such as to be ‘un-spinnable’ a point the manufacturers found worth mentioning in a special plaque on the dashboard!

Our Erco is the 415C model with unique rolling windows which open up the entire cockpit. Fully detailed with Continental engine, all functioning flying controls and a host of paint schemes, this little aeroplane will be a must addition to your hangar and a great way to cruise the skies of FSX.

The “Fortress”. Mainstay bomber of the USAF daylight bombing offensive and earner of more awards and decorations for its crews than any other aircraft in wartime history.
Aeroplane Heaven are developing this legendary aircraft for FSX for a prominent publisher and the finished model will have fully detailed and functional stations for Pilot, Bombardier , Tail, top and Ball turrets and much more. If ever you wanted a history lesson on the Boeing B17, this is the classroom to have. More soon.

A direct development of the tubby Grumman F3F Bi-plane fighter (we have one available here, in our freeware department) The Wildcat was the US Navy’s front-line, carrier-based fighter for a large proportion of the early years of WWII.

Although slower than the Japanese Zeros, the Wildcat could take huge amounts of punishment and still get its pilot home. It was this toughness that endeared the design to its pilots who could take advantage of the fitted homing equipment, designed to return the aircraft and its pilot to the carrier in all but the very worse weather.
Seeing most of the major combat of the early war in the Pacific, the Wildcat served with distinction at the Battle of Midway.

Aeroplane heaven has modeled the F4F-4 and F4F-3 versions for a well known international publisher and more details will be announced as they become available. Perhaps the most commonly recognized and certainly the most widely used of the type, the Royal Navy also flew the Wildcat as the “Martlett” and actually were responsible for the move from four to six guns, a development not warmly received by US pilots as they believed the extra weight and reduced amount of ammunition per gun to be a hindrance.

This Wildcat  is designed to operate in FSX acceleration and therefore is equipped with a working tailhook and catapult ability. The model features the usual levels of Aeroplane Heaven detail and authenticity, including folding wings with highly detailed operating hinges and mechanism, accurate complex folding undercarriage, working cowl flaps, flaps and trim tabs and even the survival dinghy is in place, beneath opening hatches in the aircraft’s spine.

We’ll bring you more news of this exciting development as it becomes available.

Workhorse of the RAF Fighter Command throughout the war, the Hurricane cut its teeth in battle during the Battle of France in 1940 and was responsible for shooting down the first German aircraft of the war, over French soil.

Later in the Summer of 1940, the “Hurri” was responsible for the destruction of more enemy aircraft in the Battle of Britain than any other type flown by the RAF.

A stable gun platform and very tough, the Hawker Hurricane was much loved by its pilots, many of whom flew nothing else right through to the end of the war, covering thousands of air miles across all the major theatres.

Aeroplane heaven has had a Hawker Hurricane in its inventory since we first started.
So it is only fitting that we introduce this all new FSX pack to you. This is a completely new model featuring a fully-detailed Merlin engine and an accessible cockpit via removable exterior panels, revealing high levels of authentic detail.

Every nut and bolt, every wire, pipe and mechanism has been faithfully recorded and is fully functional, right down to the pilot’s boarding step and push-in handholds, accurately detailed wheel-bays and opening gun hatches in the wings, revealing authentic Browning machine guns.

Inside, a fully functioning highly detailed VC puts you in control of your very own Hurricane with all systems operating by the book.

No other Hurricane built for Microsoft Flight Simulator comes close to this all-new Aeroplane Heaven masterpiece. Built exclusively for FSX, all the characteristics of the real airframe, such as the fabric coverings are faithfully reproduced using the very latest techniques of bump-mapping and specular highlight textures. Metal looks and behaves like metal, the fabric has a realistic ‘stretched’ look where it is drum-tight and ‘scalloped’ where covering the framework of the tail structures. You can practically smell the dope!

We also have one or two other exciting additions to this pack, news of which we will bring to you in due course.

Prototype, Mk1 and MkII  (cannon-equipped) Hurricanes will be represented in a variety of schemes including those of the better-known ‘aces’ of the Second World-War and a paint-kit will be included for those wishing to add their favourite scheme.

The most widely used of this remarkable fighter design the MkVB was in play in most, if not all of the major theatres of the second-world war.
A direct development of the Battle-of Britain Mk1a and MkII Spitfires, this iconic fighter has now been completely re-modeled for FSX and comes complete with a beautifully rendered Merlin engine, opening gun hatches, fully detailed, correct undercarriage and one of the best virtual cockpits you will ever see in Microsoft Flight Simulator. More news as and when but it is slated for late 2008.

The “Emil” is best remembered as the foe most met by Spitfires and Hurricanes of the RAF during the Battle of Britain. Although not as fast as later versions, this example of Willy Messerschmitt’s famous design is considered by many to be the most graceful. A close look at this machine reveals quite delicate profiles and slender dimensions in wing and airframe. The “109” design was produced in greater numbers than any other aircraft of World War 2 and saw fighting service in the preceding years during the Spanish Civil War.

The typical narrow track of the BF109 is faithfully reproduced in this fantastically detailed model. The big Daimler Benz  up front is all there, beneath removable panels and is fully detailed all the way down to the spark-plugs and ignition wires!

In the cockpit, everything is complete and functional, making this one of the most accurate and fully-featured cockpits we have ever produced.

Outside the leading-edge wing slats open and close automatically with AOA and airspeed.
The movable tail adjusts realistically to change flight trim. Every flap, access hatch and balance weight is faithfully modeled in and the cockpit is occupied by our new , lifelike animated pilot.
Paint schemes will feature the battle colours of the Luftwaffe aces and units who flew untiringly (often against their better nature) in support of the massive waves of bomber formations, pitted against England throughout the summer of 1940. If you were to add just one Messerschmitt to your FSX inventory, this is the one to have.

More news of development and release as it becomes available.
